Dezignstuff is now on Skype

skypeOk, I know, not much to brag about. Only a few years late. But the point is that I’m there now. My user name is predictably “dezignstuff”. I did my first Skype call with solidThinking in Italy. This is the way to go, especially for international calls.

Skype also has a text messenger built in, so you can send text messages and see when contacts come on line. Social Media? No, this is professional computer based communication. The nice part is that Skype-to-Skype is free. The call quality, even on my somewhat speed-challenged internet connection, was very good. Much better than a cell phone.

    Welcome Matty! Now this time when we talk about the next Bible on the podcast, you can use S2S! I think i use the chat as much as the phone.

    Good call! I use Skype much more frequently than I use a phone. I don’t have a land line.

    @Lou Gallo
    Lou, yeah, this is something I should have done a while ago. Frankly, though I try to cut down on the amount of time I spend of the phone. The combo of voice and text messages is nicely done. I’ve known about skype for a long time, just never decided I actually needed it.

    I haven’t had a land line in years, using the cell instead, and avoiding international calls. Bad thing with skype is you are limited to needing a computer. When mobile, the old fashioned cell phone works ok.
