Blogs on the SW Forums

Now here’s something to cheer about.

jw

Well, maybe cheer is the wrong word, but I’m excited to see this. Jim Wilkinson is writing a blog on the SW forums. This will be one to check out. It looks like SW is going to have several crowd favorites interact with users. I think this can only be a winning strategy. I would hope to see some other “good guys”  like Joy Garon, Darren Henry, or course Mark Biasotti, and maybe one of the support guys like Terry McCabe write some stuff.

I’m genuinely excited about this. Great idea having people who know connect with users. This is one blog I will be positively glued to.

You’ll also be seeing those entries cross-posted on the main SolidWorks blog for folks who aren’t forum regulars.

Dont get me wrong I would probably like ‘Wilkie’ if I met him but the prospect of interacting with him about more UI developments generates somewhat different emotions than excitement in me.
I vividly recall long beta threads where most of the knowledge known to man was re-examined in the pursuit of simple self evident truths.
The whole notion that they arent done yet with the UI even after SW2010 causes me instant pain.
I am entirely willing to natter about anything to do with better tools, help, etc, etc but not the UI.
other than that it should be an interesting addition…
btw sorry, who is Tom Spine in the scheme of things?

I would love to see some of the tech support people blogging. There are a few that I’ve always enjoyed solving customer problems with – Terry being one of them.
